Amazingly (and scary) 48% of Americans believe in creationism. Since we pretty much quit teaching science in school, I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but it sure does worry me. Dr. Lipton's work, remarkable as it is, will probably never reach the very people who most need to absorb it.
